Miss Universe 2008!

Miss Universe 2007, Miss India

So I was at Beverly Hotel yesterday as I was one of the sponsors for the Miss Universe 2008 pageant held in conjunction of World Aids Day. It was nice to see the top 20 contestants of the Miss Universe Pageant and the theme of the night was Toga as the hosting country is Greece.

The event was supposed to start at about 7pm but there were some difficulties from the finalist in terms of transportation and all so the show started one and a half hour late. That was the worst part of the show. However, the food that were served that night was quite good. Usually in functions like these, food will be served one by one of in a buffet style, but tonight it was quite good because the dishes were all placed in one spot and were straight away given to us to eat. I found that to be quite new, or i've been living in a box.

The first round started off with The top 20 finalists wearing their toga costume, and the followed by the traditional costume for second round and evening wear for the final round. After these three rounds the top 7 were announced. Miss Indonesia, Miss Philippines, Miss Thailand, Miss Venezuela, Miss India, Miss China and Miss Romania. The top 7 were then brought into the final round and were asked questions regarding HIV.

The 2nd runner up was then announced, Miss Thailand was the 2nd runner up followed by Miss Venezuela and the new Miss Universe 2008 was given to Miss Philippines. All and all, the event was quite enjoyable though it started really really late!

Now this is Miss United States of America, she is by far the most tallest contestant in the competition. I was wondering why she didn't make it into the top 7.

This is Miss Trinidad & Tobago, she is quite odd looking but i guess Niggers does look like her. But I wasn't surprised about her not getting into the top 7 though. She did however put a lot of effort in this and I respect her for that!

Miss Singapore is quite cute. Her introduction however sucked big time. I guess she was quite nervous.

Miss Jamaica was awarded as the Miss Congeniality for the competition. I don't see her winning the crown but I guess this ugly piece of meat is a nice person inside, (Konon).

Now her name is Kiki Lala and she is the representative of the Russian Federation. Unlike the United States, Miss Russia is the shortest contestant, she did however win the Most Creative award.

Now this is Miss Iceland, I don't understand why Miss Iceland is black because all the Previous Miss Icelands were all blonde bombshells. But she did the best she could though.

Miss Hong Kong looked a little weird. But she was one of the taller contestants.

Miss Hawaii had the most "naked" traditional costume. Those coconuts however looked fresh that night!

Miss Egypt is gorgeous, I wonder why she didn't make it to the top 3. But she was however, one of the more prettier contestants.

This is Miss Zhang Zi Yi, she is Miss China, To be honest I don't think she's pretty but my girl friends seem to think so.

This is Miss Thailand, the contestant with the longest name and from the land of the lady boys. She managed to get 2nd runner up!

Now this is the 1st runner up, she is known as Miss Venezuela. She is quite pretty. I love her sweet innocent girl next door looks.

Now she is the New Miss Universe 2008! Miss Philippines was quite gorgeous that night. Her introduction however was quite over the top. I do wish her the best of luck for her future!
