"there are no guarantees in life... even if you find someone who is a perfect match in terms of age, looks, intelligence, etc., there's still no assurance it will last. And some of the most enduring relationships I've seen have been b...etween people that you wouldn't think would match. The bottom line is, love is not something you can intellectualise and make a check list of qualities and analyse. And even if you did, you would still be surprised by life.
And also, what are you so afarid of? If it doesn't work, it doesn't work and you would till have been enriched by the experience of loving and being loved. It's like someone offers you a free holiday in Hawaii - are you going to say "Oh but it's only for a year? Two years? I don't want it unless you can guarantee it'll last forever." Come on! Either way, you win. This fear of commitment is unfounded. Take it from me -- the biggest regrets we will have in life are over the things that we did NOT do. And not experiencing love because we chose fear or wanted more "freedom" will be one BIG regret." - Gilbert Cheah
