Floyd does his time and time is up for the vagina.

I have a great deal of respect for Floyd Mayweather's pugilistic skills, but I am really getting sick of dude crying a river about his incarceration. First he tried to get his lawyers to beg for house arrest because he claimed that he would lose his boxing skills, and now he is crying about the food.

Floyd, it's a jail, it's not one of those fancy Vegas hotels that you are used to.

The conditions in a jail are going to be tough. Especially for a guy like you who is used to living large.

It can't be any worse than the jails here in Philly, and young bucks here sit in jail like it's a walk in the park.

Floyd is going to sit for 90 days. That isn't exactly hard time. He pleaded guilty to a serious charge and was allowed to earn a big pay day before going to lock down. It's time to stop with the whining and get on with doing the time.

My advice to Floyd is to make the best use of his time while he is being held by the state. Read some books and do some soul searching. At the end of the day it isn't always about how you take care of your body; it's about how you take care of your mind as well.

Finally, republicans in Michigan have decided that the word Vagina is a bad word. This could have something to do with the fact it (the vagina) is attached to women. I bet they would never ban the word penis. That is too close for comfort.

This fits a pattern with republicans of late, anything having to do with a woman or her body has caused them to come out blazing. Some of these republicans are married and have daughters, (heck some of them are women themselves) so you have to wonder where all of this dislike for women is coming from.

“It was so offensive, I don’t even want to say it in front of women,” one state representative said. “I would not say that in mixed company.”

Really? Vagina is "offensive"? What if she had said my pussy? What other word should she have used to describe this particular part of her body?

“If I can’t say the word vagina, why are we legislating vaginas?”

They are "legislating vaginas" because vaginas are dangerous weapons. Look how many self righteous republicans it brought down. If the vagina goes unchecked there is no telling how much damage it will do.

Breaking stereotypes. But are we still color aroused?

When you hear about an Asian American Harvard graduate, the last thing you think about is some dude breaking legs and raining jumpers in the NBA. But that's exactly what Jeremy Lin is doing these days, and he is doing it in style. Dude has made the Knicks relevant again. Something Mello and Amare couldn't quite do. And now, Spike Lee, all five feet three inches of him, is jumping out of his court side seat once again.

They are calling it "Linsanity" in New York, and even for the hype capital of the world this is major.

I say this is a good thing. Anytime you get something out of the box and busting up stereotypes it's all good as far as I am concerned. Of course Asian dudes from Harvard don't usually go off in the NBA. So yes, dude is an anomaly, but he is an anomaly in a good way.

Floyd Mayweather is catching heat for these comments he made via a tweet:

"Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise," Mayweather wrote on his Twitter account on Monday afternoon. [Source]

Yes Floyd, all the hype is because he is Asian. And not just any Asian riding the pines on an NBA bench in Charlotte. He is starting for the Knicks! That makes what he is doing special.

Sorry Floyd, you don't always have to call out the elephant in the room.

Personally, I want more whites, Asians, and people of all of other races getting their shine on the NBA. And I want more African American neurosurgeons like Ben Carson getting their shine on in hospitals all over the country. That's progress.

Finally, more from the color arousal department: (Thanks Francis)

" A white grandfather says he wound up in cuffs after being accosted by police, all for walking home with his black granddaughter.

Scott Henson, a former journalist who now researches for and blogs about the criminal justice system, wrote about the experience on his popular blog, "Grits for Breakfast."

Henson, who describes himself as "an almost stereotypical looking white Texas redneck," said he was walking home from a roller skating rink with his 5-year-old granddaughter Ty, who is African-American, on Friday night.
On the blog, Henson explains the relationship. Ty's mother is his goddaughter, and Henson and his wife often find themselves "tasked with unplanned impromptu babysitting duties, like hundreds of other parents and grandparents around Austin."

That night, Henson opted to walk home from the rink instead of having his wife come pick up him and Ty.

"This was a terrible mistake on Grandpa's part," he said.
According to the blog post, which was published Saturday, Henson was stopped by a deputy constable, who told him that there were reports of a white man kidnapping a black girl. He was ordered to step away from Ty, and the officer began to question the girl.

"He's my Grandpa!" Ty said, according to the blog post.
Satisfied, the officer released Henson and Ty, who continued to walk home until they were stopped again -- this time, by five flashing police cars and a crowd of police.

"The officers got out with tasers drawn demanding I raise my hands and step away from the child," Henson said. "I complied, and they roughly cuffed me, jerking my arms up behind me needlessly."

"Meanwhile, Ty edged up the hill away from the officers, crying."
Henson said he provided officers with phone numbers they needed to verify that Ty was his granddaughter, "but for quite a while nobody seemed too interested in verifying my 'story.'"

Police again questioned Ty, and Henson was eventually released.
Corporal Anthony Hipolito of the Austin Police Department verified that Henson was stopped on Feb. 10, as police were searching for a kidnapper who'd allegedly snatched a young black girl nearby.

"Officers verified that the man was her grandfather through a phone call to her mother, and they were released," Hipolito said to the Daily News.
Still, Henson, who has written about a similar experience on his blog before, isn't satisfied.

"How hard would it have been to perform a safety check without running up on me like I'm John Dillinger and scaring the crap out of a five-year-old?"
He also noted that he was released without an apology.

"I hated for a five-year-old to be subjected to such an experience,” Henson said. “I'd like her to view police as people she can trust instead of threats to her and her family, but it's possible I live in the wrong neighborhood for that." [Source]

Hmmm, this story is deep on a lot of levels. The po po could have done a better job of handling this situation. But were they wrong? This is, after all, A-merry-ca, and we are all color aroused in this post- racial world that we live in.

Let me know what you think.

The Silence Of The Ewes.

I just read in interesting post from Monica Roberts over at TransGriot, and I think I will share it:

"Despite claiming that fighting sexism is a concern of feminists, attacks against Michelle Obama continually get ignored. It is left to women of colour to point out the link between sexism and racism that combine to oppress her. Womanist Musings, May 9, 2011
One of the things I'm not surprised about but it really irritates the hell out of me is the way the vanillacentric feminist blogosphere can rush to the defense of any white female attacked in any way by the 'menz'.

But let those attacks be aimed at a woman of color or First Lady Michelle Obama, and this is their reaction:" *Chirping sound effects*

Once again Oxycontin Man went on the attack against the First Lady making cracks about her weight. Two Tons Of Not So Much Fun made the crack that 'President Obama’s limousine “weighs 8 tons without Michelle Obama in it.”

First of all, you drug addled bigoted dufus, you are the last person to be mocking people about their weight.

Besides that, the FLOTUS isn't F-A-T, she's P-H-A-T, fine, beautiful, intelligent and got it going on. You're just jealous because you're bitter, lonely and have had four women dump your azz while the POTUS has been happily married to the same fine brown framed sistah since 1993.

Now that I'm done verbally slapping around Cetaceas Oxycontinus, back to you feminist blogosphere.

I find it interesting that this is the same blogosphere that rose up en masse to defend Kirstie Alley, Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin and a host of white females on both sides of the political spectrum but can't be bothered to type one sentence when it comes to the FLOTUS or any non-white woman under attack.

What, some of y'all still hatin' and fuming because Michelle's hubby beat Hillary for the Democratic presidential nomination back in 2008?

And don't think it's just Moni that has noticed your glacial pace and benign neglect when it
comes to defending the FLOTUS, much less any Black woman. It's kinda sad when even white men are quicker to defend the First Lady than y'all are

Well, won't be the first or last time that's happened (Satoshi Kanazama controvery ring a bell?) or the first or last time that Black women have had to be the ones to have our own or
Michelle Obama's back.

And you wonder why Black women left feminism back in the late 80's early 90's." [Source]

Oh my! Where is Oprah when you need her? Shouldn't she be speaking out? Isn't Oprah the link between black and white feminist here in A-merry-ca?

Yes Monica, it is a shame. But welcome to the "New Reconstruction Era" here in A-merry-ca. White feminist (sorry to single you out there girlfriend) won't check Rush, because Rush is speaking about a women of color. It's that simple.

Sadly, this is "Animal Farm" form of feminism: Some women are more equal than others.

Finally, I saw the fight last night between $ Mayweather and Victor Ortiz, and I had flashbacks of the second Holyfield Tyson fight, where my man Iron Mike went all Hannibal Lecter on Holyfield. It wasn't pretty. But, in the end, the best man won.

I thought that Mayweather was on his way to a decision before the headbutt and quick punch. (I won't call it a sucker punch because it was legal.) It's a shame that it had to end that way, because it looked like it was going to be a pretty good fight.

-BTW, I am so through with those two frauds (Lampley and Merchant) who call the fights for HBO. I thought commentators were supposed to be impartial?
No wonder $ Mayweather got in Merchant's grill after the fight. (I would show it to you, but HBO blocked all the videos.)-

Here is the bottom line: Mayweather and Pacquiao will have to get together for that super fight that we all have been jonesing for.The fight game needs it now more than ever.
