30 DAY CINEPHILE CHALLENGE: DAY 6

Day 6: The biggest disappointment from one of your favorite filmmakers – TSUGUMI (1990, Jun Ichikawa). The film is fine. I consider it a disappointment only when I compare it to BU SU (1987, Jun Ichikawa). Both BU SU and TSUGUMI deal with a lonely young girl. But I find TSUGUMI "averagely good" while BU SU is "excellent". Moreover, I don't feel much involved with the heroine of TSUGUMI, while I feel totally involved with the heroine of BU SU.
