Moyo

Jam: if you ever find yourself in this part of the world, you have to put this on you to do list. On the Spier wine estate, there is a little piece of magic called Moyo. A truly breath taking place, where you almost feel like magic is real. The setting is gorgeous – I booked a table in the main tent, but if you get a chance I would highly recommend the tree houses. Little platforms built amongst the trees, with metal lanterns providing just enough light. (JAR: Yeah its quite a kiff place) Jam: the meal is served buffet style, and well worth the R180 you pay per head.. just make sure to pace yourself, and sample only a little along the way… o and make sure to make numerous trips. Jar and I managed about three each! Jar: Good selection of everything, was awesome Jam: Now to accompany any good meal, a good wine is needed… in this case it comes at a cost of R50 per glass! Must admit once the initial shock wore off, I really enjoyed that glass of … what was it again… Jar: Whatever, jam!! There is cheaper wine, alternatively if you a teetotaller coke is R11 for a big can Jam: after the meal, Jar and I curled up on their over sized couches, under the blankets provided at each table, and were entertained by a group of singers. (Jar: Sounds romantic – was pretty cool) Okay, so it is targeted at the tourist market in a big way, but strangely enough being there made me feel proud to be part of this country. So if you ever in the area, and feel like a truly amazing night out, try this. And by the way, guys, if you have stuffed up and have some serious amends to make, this will earn you many brownie points…Just ask Jar! (Jar: Nope still in the dogbox, shouldn't have commented on the jam trips to the dessert stand… J)
